Health Struggles, Motherhood, and Building a Brand with Elizabeth Stephens – Episode 20

by | Jan 5, 2022 | Podcast

Welcome back to the Wholly Well Podcast! My guest today is a powerhouse woman, and a friend of mine: Elizabeth Stephens. She and I have known each other for quite some time, going back to early high school. A multi-passionate and multi-talented wife and mom, and fellow San Antonio girl, you’re going to love the burst of energy she brings to the show today!

Elizabeth is the Director of Events and a Personal Brand Strategist at the Brand Builders Group. She has worked with clients ranging from 7-figure entrepreneurs, NYT Bestselling authors, Top Ranked Podcast Hosts to Reality TV stars and Politicians to build their influence, impact, and income. She is a sought after personal brand strategist who leverages quick wins with the long game in mind.

Today we’re combining so many aspects of health as we chat about getting to the root of health struggles, balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship, and taking the leap to build your dream. I can’t wait to hear how you’re inspired after listening!

Things to Remember

1) Be unapologetic about what will make you a better mom. For Elizabeth, that’s getting away for conferences, retreats, or date nights. I loved Elizabeth’s mindset that taking time away to be refilled serves her kids better by giving them a mom who will be healthier and more present.

2) Give yourself a time out. Being a solo-preneur, or just a human, can come with overwhelming moments. Instead of expending more negative energy or causing grief to those around you, give yourSELF a timeout. Don’t be afraid to walk away and reset.

3) Diluted focus yields diluted results. I’ll be the first to admit that this is HARD for Enneagram 7’s like me. But Elizabeth shared powerful encouragement that applies whether we are building a brand or living out a day in the life.

4) Stories are unbelievably powerful. Elizabeth was a wealth of knowledge on the power of stories, and I hadn’t heard them explained quite like that before! When a story loop is opened in someone’s brain, it has to be finished. As entrepreneurs, how can we provide that to our audiences? Thinking through this serves our communities well.

5) Move from “should” to “how.” This simple shift allows for fluidity instead of pressure and paralysis. Like I’ve mentioned before, my counselor always says “should is the devil’s playground.” We can walk in freedom, and this tiny word change has great impact.

The Wellness Wrap-Up

A new rhythm, perspective, or change you’ve made in your life to achieve a life that’s more wholly well.

Elizabeth was speaking my language when she shared her answer: She goes to bed early every night! She says, “knowing my body and my capacity is key.” Diligence with sleep seems like such a simple thing but has made such an impact. Yes girl!
