Getting to the Root of Your Fertility Challenges with English Goldsborough – Episode 41

by | Nov 3, 2022 | Podcast

In this episode, I have a fellow NTP on the podcast (🙌), English Goldsborough, to chat about all things fertility. This is the first episode I have ever done on this topic, and I’m SO excited to dig into fertility, infertility, conceiving a healthy baby, and some of the root cause approaches for conception.

English is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, board certified in Holistic Nutrition, and a certified Lactation Counselor. English specializes in helping couples overcome fertility challenges and conceive in the least invasive way possible.

Whether you’ve been on a journey to conceive a baby for years or if you are just getting started, I’m honored to share this episode with you.

Things to Remember

1) There are many root causes of fertility issues. We are discovering more and more that we have an incomplete definition of infertility. Things like nutritional deficiencies, stress from our modern lifestyle, hormonal imbalance, and mycotoxins can all affect fertility (and many of these are correctable!) We need to shift our mindset of what fertility means and get to the root cause of fertility challenges.

2) Get curious about what is happening with your body. You may have been told you are infertile or that IVF is the only way to conceive a child. While this may be the case for some couples, we often don’t take the time to ask ourselves what is going on in our bodies. The human body is designed to protect us, which may mean it won’t let us get pregnant because we are not healthy enough to handle it. Start by getting curious about your own body and ask, “Why might this not be the right time for my body to get pregnant?”

3) Start by getting the basics right. You may not be ready to book an appointment with English, or maybe you are just starting your journey to conceive. You can begin by simply supporting the body in the basics, like drinking water, getting natural sunlight daily, moving your body, utilizing a sauna, and getting red light. When we get these basics right, we are laying a good foundation to build on when we are ready to discover the root causes of fertility.

4) 50% of infertility is male-factor related. Too frequently, the bulk of the responsibility for infertility is placed on the female. We need to remember that fertility challenges affect both genders. Some of the basics that males can do to set themselves up for success are to go to bed early to make sure you get deep sleep, go to the gym, balance your blood sugar, and eat healthy whole foods.

The Wellness Wrap-Up

A new rhythm, perspective, or change you’ve made in your life to achieve a life that’s more wholly well.

English says, “I wake up every day and practice saying that I get to do things rather than saying that I have to do things.” Love that perspective!
