Well the consensus is out! This one foundational thing is about the easiest approach to health you can imagine and it’s also pretty dang easy to integrate into your routine.
What I’m about to tell you may seem TOO easy, but what if that’s the point? What if so many of us are getting lost in the weeds and intricacies of health?
It makes perfect sense to me that health shouldn’t be as difficult as we make it. But, I know what you’re thinking, “then why are so many of us sick?” My answer is simple: because we’ve ignored both the easy and necessary rhythms of foundational health for far too long.
Ok, so here it is: walking.
What if I told you that just by integrating walking everyday you could potentially:
Lower your blood pressure
Regulate your blood sugar
Increase blood flow
Increase bone density
Ease your digestion
Clear your head (hello, mental health)
Regulate your nervous system
Increase your vitamin D levels
Benefit your immune system
And so much more!
Would you do it?
The fact is, many of you are falling victim to another monthly subscription or another health fad because you’re addicted to burning out, procrastinating and complaining. This victim mentality has crept into nearly every facet of American life. We’re too hurried, busy and stressed to walk? Come on, now.
The facts are simple: walking benefits every cell in your body. It turns out that humans were never meant to be sedentary and that our legs serve a specific purpose: TO MOVE. Quite the concept, right?
You also don’t have to turn walking into “another thing” you can integrate it into what you’re already doing. At work? Great, take the stairs. Playing with your kids inside? Great, get up and take a few laps around your living room. On your lunch break? Ok, stop scrolling on your phone, eat, and then go on a walk around the building.
Stop making excuses and stop reaching for fad health programs. Put in the foundational work and you’ll see that extra couple of pounds come off, or that brain fog lift, or your digestion take a turn.
What are you waiting for? Grab your shoes and get to walking. Want to get an even better bang for your health? Walk barefoot if you can.
Always cheering you on in reclaiming WHOLE health!
xoxo,
Kelsey
